And please, if you manage to get a DVD somewhere, let me know. I only have on tape, in German. I'd love to hear (and see  ) this one in original language.
Max is definitely sexier than Horatio. :thumbs up And it's good to know that I'm not alone in my opinion, Stevie.
Sylviane, I have Happy Now on Region 2 DVD (from Amazon. They had quite a few a couple of months ago.)
I got Happy Now on R2 dvd from eBay, where there usually some copies available. The dvds are originally from Spain or Germany (I think these are the only countries where Happy Now was released on dvd), but they carry the English audio track as well as the Spanish or German one.
Anyway, Happy Now is a great movie.

Smouldering sounds good, Sylviane & Stevie!
I'm going to see if I can get a copy after my trip - now I have to save up all my money for shopping in Wales. I might be able to find some Welshcake in its natural surroundings in Cardiff, right? (Eh, I mean like a DVD of any of Ioan's work I haven't seen yet. I'm quite sure my few euros couldn't buy me the Real Thing... )

Cardiff in Wales, UK, and Cardiff-by-the-Sea (BTW, I googled it and discovered that it is a community within the city of Encinitas, is located 95 miles south of Los Angeles and 25 miles north of San Diego) in California, USA, must surely be very different, but I guess it was a pleasant surprise for Ioan to find a place near where he lives now with the same name of the town he was originally from.
Thanks for the snippet, Annee.

“The climate and beaches are nicer than the real Cardiff.”
Uh-oh!:???: Here we go........is there an Oscar category for opening your mouth and putting your foot in it? If so, I foresee a shiny addition to Welshboy's mantlepiece......

You're probably right, Stevie. He'll probably upset some people with that comparison.
I've actually been there a few times when going down to Leucadia to hear Celtic Music at this little coffee house. It was many years ago, but the area is gorgeous. The water is comparatively warm much of the year without a lot of undertow. I'm sure he's been to the L.A. and/of Orange County beaches which tend to be more crowded than those down South. So, I'd have to agree with him about their beauty. Having never been to Wales :dunno about his comparison to them.

Uh-huh,Isn't THAT funny?! I thought the very same thing when I read it,too. I'll have to put in my vote for a see-how-far-one-can-stick-a-foot-in-his-mouth award,as well! Ioan,....Ioan,.....Ioan.......

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not disputing that the beauty and climate of Cardiff-by-the Sea are probably far more desirable than those of the original Cardiff,(a thriving, dynamic but very normal British city)I just felt he was bound to upset his fellow countrymen.....maybe its my foot that's in me gob!
Shipmate- 02-16-2008
No,Stevie, I get what you mean very plainly.
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-16-2008
As do I, and you are likely correct.

Well, I don't if this is a comforting thought for Cardiff people, but I like British weather (much as I like weather in the north of France) because it is changeable and every day (or moment ) is a surprise.

Yes, the poor man has done it once again. I sense some people from Wales are going to be a bit offended. I don't think he meant anything by it but the man just does not know what to say sometimes. You can't say everything that pops into your head no matter who you are but as a person in public eye you have to be really careful as to how you are perceived. I find that the way we perceive ourselves is often far different than the way we are actually perceived by others.

That's wonderful news. Congratulations to Ioan. :occasion: :mex.wave: for the Welshboy. :Wales

Thanks for the article with further details about the ceremony, Annee. I'm glad Ioan made it to Cardiff to receive his award.
Hope his eye heals quickly.

I'm glad that Ioan made it for the ceremony. Nice to hear that he spent a great deal of time with fans on the red carpet.
