piers show
Piers interviewed Scary Spice, Sharon Osbourne and some others who weren't famous but were trying to be.
Speaking of SG, GE and Warriors they're my fave things that IG has done but that's a while ago now.

Thanks for summarising what was told on Piers, BoS.
I agree with GG that LA is the place that has the most opportunities and funding, if you are in the movie business, and US productions are those that are most likely to get worldwide distribution and give worldwide fame to an actor, so being in LA can definitely widen an actor's possibilities, though competition is fierce there, fiercer than elsewhere.

Thanks for the rest of that list. I agree with you Bridge that those are some of Ioan's best projects in that they gave him great characters to play, a lot of screen time and a wide range of emotions to play which showed off his skills as an actor. The problem for his career is that they were in such limited release. I know I had to search many places before finding the ones I did.
I'm sure Ioan is seeking those types of roles on the larger scale of the big screen, but reality is you have to take what you get. Doing FF may not be as satisfying in an artistic way, but it gives him the opportunity to do AG which he has said he is very proud of. I have to think how sad it is for those actors who desire a bigger stage, who don't go for it and have to look back in regret for not trying. Even if you don't reach all your goals to look back knowing you didn't try everything would be far worse. Though it may not seem like it at times, his career is building. I know in my area, I encounter many more people who know of him and like his acting than ten years ago when Hornblower was at its peak.
He's not on the A list yet, and may never be, but he is a steadily working actor which is nothing to sneeze at. And for all but a few, the A list changes constantly. Look at Mickey Roarke or John Travolta, they've both been on and off that list several times over the years. There are also some A listers I wouldn't pay to see at a movie. While I hope Ioan achieves his goals, if he doesn't, I hope that he has a life long, satisfying career as an actor or director if he wants to dip his toes into that pool.

Whoops, Ioan! have you chosen your Oscars outfit yet? This guy may have a point....
This weekend, I want to see some velvet. To be more specific, I want to see a velvet jacket — never a full suit, like the one Ioan Gruffudd wore last year.

Hmm, I see that fashion critics are already preparing for the Oscar night next weekend...
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-20-2009
I'm actually liking the velvet suit. I guess it's cause I like the feel of velvet and/or very soft leather. :naughty So. . . Uhh oh! :cold shower 1 Quickly running to the Alley with a picture of Ioan in a velvet suit. . . er. . uhm make that Lancelot in leather. Oh just make it both!

You're digging yourself in deeper and deeper there,GG------ :rotf: ( But I like the thoughts of it too!)
StevieT- 02-21-2009
The pics are those from Rex in the Ioan and Alice pics thread, but it seems Ioan and Alice attended the Cecconi's pre-Oscar 'banquette' (?) The article is about Beyonce, but do I get from it that the party was for people who are presenting....? or is it just wishful thinking?

Guess we'll find out tomorrow night!!!!! Sounds kind of like Ioan just might be doing something in the show, doesn't it??!! Thanx for the tip, Stevie, I'll be in front of the tv to watch, that's for sure. Should be fun to watch no matter what.
StevieT- 02-21-2009
I suppose that means we don't see it until Monday, then. Be sure and tell us Europeans if there's anything we should know, Matie!
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-21-2009
Hmmm! I haven't heard anything that sounds like Ioan is involved. Could just be that the writer was relating all the Celebs who were in the restaurant that night. I'll be watching anyway, so a little more to watch for. We should have started a favorites list about a week ago, shouldn't we?
StevieT- 03-01-2009
Ioan (who must be a member of the Hollywood United Football Club  ) will be participating in a fundraising tournament for victims of the Australian bushfires. Go Welshboy! :applaud: Wish I could see those knees - WE WANT PICS! RA RA RA!

OMG :shock Cameron Daddo? Dominic Purcell? Simon Baker? ... all in one place?
Mhmm, wonder if Matthew Rhys will be there too. 't Would be fun to get a picture of him and Jonathan LaPaglia together. (LaPaglia was supposed to play the gay son on B&S, but apparantly had issues with the man-kissing part, so they hired Matthew instead.)
Besides, I wouldn't mind another Ioan/Matthew picture... Oh, the knees!
Gaffer'sGirl- 03-01-2009
I was searching for pics and couldn't find any. When I heard that Nuno Bettencourt was also going to be there, I was ready to pay for the plane flight. Too bad I had to work. Ioan and Nuno at the same location. Wouldn't mind seeing both their knees!
I better go put some clips of him on the Not Ioan hotness thread.
muvidlover- 03-01-2009
I don't see Ioan, do you? I see the yummy Simon Baker.
