Thanks for sharing that info about the A&E special. I don't have cable but I wonder if I could maybe try to find some of it at least on Youtube!!?? Part of the reason I enjoyed the series so much was because of all the great history involved. Yes, the writers definitely had their work cut out for them when it came to researching facts :)
Have either of you read about real life archeologist (well, it's questionable whether he was a fraud) Heinrich Schliemann. He was of an earlier era than Indy, but an interesting time in archeology and he and those of his era had some exciting adventures. You might find his history fun and easy to find on the internet.
No I have not GG... I might just need to look that up sometime. Google sure does ccome in handy :) Thanks!

Here is some information I found on him. Very interesting reading. :)
Yes, he led a rather interesting life; treasure hunting in myriad countries with some unscrupulous characters. Though not quite Indiana Jones of the movies; he led a varied and exciting life. I learned about him when I took ancient Greek history. There were several others in that era and just after as archeology was a bit of a free for all at that time.
I'll have to check this out when I get more time. Thanks Gaff!!
Speaking of archaeology, yesterday on the Discover Channel they had a 2 part series about the 10 grea-*test*-('") discoveries of the ancient Egyptians. That's another period in history I love and find so completely fascinating. Totally worth checking out if you ever get the chance. Some unbelievably important finds that have led, of course, to current technological advances and such. So interesting!
