I've never seen it here in the U.S. I really find Stephen Fry funny. He was great when he hosted the BAFTAS. I'm afraid if the Networks here used the concept of Fry's series they would put in an American host.
That would be a shame GG, as he's uniquely witty and clever. I don't know who the nearest person would be over there. The comics and personalities they use on the panel are all pretty left of mainstream, too. Hugh has been a guest too and he and Stephen play off each other really well.
Yes, remember the BAFTAS and Ioan's blush at Stephen's introduction as "One of the most gorgeous men I've ever had the pleasure of!"
That was a perfect line. I agree as to Fry's cleverness and sense of humor. I'm afraid the Networks fear that Americans wouldn't accept or understand the humor and they fear taking a chance. Most programing is so dumbed down. Mumble, mumble, grumble. Sorry, I can't stand Deal or No Deal and the like which play nearly every day.

Definitely with you there, GG! there's anew one called Duel just come out here and it's just as mind-numbingly boring!

Oh, well. In Italy, too, networks seem to be afraid of taking a chance and schedule some (more) intelligent programmes.
Maybe they all need newer, brighter minds in programing from some experienced TV Watchers  . We could fill the bill.
In fact, I've often wondered whether TV programmers really pay attention to what audiences want. Considered how many people I've heard complaining about TV programming, I think that investing in some more high-quality programmes would be worthwhile for TV networks.
What I wish could happen some day is that a cable subscriber could be permitted to CHOOSE the channels that we desire to come into our homes. Since we're paying for it and all...... I've already got my "picks" ready,...whenever they decide to let the viewing public have their choice. (NOT holding my breath!!!)

I hope not as you would quickly be a bright shade of blue.
The TV Set did an excellent job portraying some of the cutthroat and dumbing down aspects of the Networks. If there is limited success, Programing execs quickly lose their job and can only hope they've made a few connections so they can find another job after the furor of their demise has calmed. Horrible system in many ways.
If reality shows bring in money and are cheap to produce, there will be more. How many people actually win that Million? Maybe one or two in the whole run of the series. Cheap. Cheap Cheap! to produce.

No problem, GG! And it´s a very good film for you since you like every actor in it! Good for you!!
Just to get things clear....
you might have heard some rumors about Hugh divorcing his wife of 19 years Jo. Fortunately this is NOT true!!!!!!!! They are still very much togheter, and that´s how we all want them to stay!!
Well, what matters it that I will manage to see this film. I it think it is worth the wait.
