Thanks for responding to that question, Red. Not likely we'll ever see it here unless it's a late night BBC-America airing. Your description along with the few pictures I saw on IO help in visualizing the story. So, I guess he can play rougher characters. Thanks, GG

Thanks, GG I didn't expand too much on the story, in case there was any chance of you being able to see it yourself. Is BBC - America the only outlet available to you? Are there any Sky channels which may pick it up?

Is BBC - America the only outlet available to you? Are there any Sky channels which may pick it up? I have a Dish, but don't get premium channels. I have a Basic Plus coverage that includes BBC-America but nothing Premium. In fact, I haven't even heard of Sky Channels other than on this website. We live in a rural area literally 1/4 mile from the Northern edge of the U.S. Just like movies, we are sometimes limited in what we are offered. Of course, it could be I just don't know about them. :???: GG

Did I reply in here already? lol I can't remember but I'll reply again. I got hooked after seeing him in King Arthur, I'm not hooked anymore.

I first saw Ioan in Titanic, but totally forgot about him. Then he appeared on my radar when I caught advertisements of Horatio Hornblower on A&E. I kept looking at the bloke and thinking where had I seen him before. I realized that after several glimpses at the ads for HH, I remembered he was the one of the crew in Titanic. With my affection for tall ships and Napoleanic themed stories, HH was right up my alley. I have throughly enjoyed every episode of the series. He was born to play Horatio Hornblower. After watching the first episode, The Duel, I was hooked! I ran to my computer and basically cut my teeth on online fandoms with Ioan through the A&E HH message board. I need to find everything there was to know about him. I found kindred souls on the A&E board and even assisted with organizing the first Hornblower Conference which was held in Baltimore in 1999. That basically launched my fandom for Ioan and I've been following his career among my many other passions, ever since. Saucy

For me it was Hornblower because obviously that was the first movie i watched of him. especially the first few episodes. i really liked the fact that he upheld moral, he was honourable, respectful and genuinly caring. on top of these he acted intelligent and need i mention beautiful brown eyes , cury hair and just what makes Ioan!! some roles i didn't like when he played is 'This Girls life' becos its not my type of a guy flirting and hookin on women. but thats not him anyway sooo thatz cool! Playing 'Sam' in 'Solomon and Geanor' , i thought was awesome too. soft melting eyes, gorgous smile.

I saw Ioan in 102 Dalmations but I was 11 at the time when it came out and wouldn't remeber much. I then became addicted to The forsyte Saga and thought he was a good actor but it was when I really saw Hornblower then I realised hey it's the guy from The Forsyte Saga and thought that he was rather good looking. I'm really glad my friend made me watch it :D hey don't ya think when his eating those noodles and looking up at alice with those puppy eyes moment is tooooooooo cute

I think most of us are in agreement with you about Hornblower, Heart. We all love it. Solomon and Gaenor is also one of my favorites. Warriors is excellent. Happy Now if you can get a hold of it. And Another Life. This Girl's Life is not one of my favorites, but an actor sometimes has to play against type or they will only get one type of role.

iheart_mr.Hornblower- 07-17-2009

i havn't seen Warriors. is he in it alot? i starteded loading it on youtube then chickened out becos i didn't see him straight away. I havn't seen Happy Now either. can some-one upload it on youtube if u have it becos i can't get it anywhere in my store. thanks :)

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-17-2009

Yes, he is in Warriors a lot. He is one of the main characters. Sometimes it is hard to tell because of the helmet and he is quite quiet, but definitely there. It is a hard film to watch because of the war issues, but worthwhile.

Cool! i'll definately check it out next time! thanks Gaffer's girl :)

I think you'll like "Warriors" very much, too,Heart. It's sad (get your hanky ready!),but the message and the thoughts it stirs up after you see it are worth the time. ---------------------- "Another Life" might be available on E-bay or Amazon. Good Luck!
