Sylviane- 08-29-2007

Ok! Don't know where else to put this, but I always seem to be just ready to sign off and hit the bed when someone from the other side of the world signs on. Tonight it is Sylvianne and the other night it was Frances and it's been StevieT and others on different nights. Just want to say GOOD MORNING! Have a cup of :coffee while I go off to :snooze . Hope your day is wonderful. Good night and :hug for the day, GG :happy :happy :happy Well, I hope you had a good night's rest when you read this. I had my :coffee (we should also have a emoticon of cup coffee with a smiling face. I am one of those terrible people who wake up cheerfull!! Allright, hate me for it. but I'm always glad to know I DID wake up again. ) and I'm off to clean up Iris's room, which I believe has been struck by the Silver Surfer, seeing the total mess it is in. Maybe I should ask for Mr Fantastic's help... :plotting

It often happens to me, too, to be ready to sign off, switch off the computer and go to bed when someone from the other side of the world signs in and I end up staying here for another 10 minutes (I'm a bit of an insomniac, anyway).

GNAT0629- 08-29-2007

Oh Syl you're a bad girl! :devil GG - I usually don't get on here til about lunchtime. So right now it's almost 12:30 p CDT. Hope you had a good night's sleep!

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-29-2007

Thanks Sylvianne, Frances and Gnat, I did get a good night's sleep. I only woke up once around 7:30 when my dog started barking. Insomnia is something I understand, Frances. The other night I went to bed at 2:00AM, woke on my own at 4:00AM. Since it was the night of the full lunar eclipse, I got up to look at it, went back to bed for ten minutes and viewed it again, went back to bed thinking I'd get up in 5 minutes to see it at the full stage and I ended up sleeping through it and waking up two and a half hours later. It's real rare for me to get eight solid hours. I don't work until 4:00 in the afternoon so it doesn't cause me too many problems unless I have to get up early. Then it's a nightmare. Sylvianne - Hope Iris' room is looking all spiffy. Any help from the stretchy man? Once it's done you should reward yourself with a favorite Welsh boy movie (and yes I know for you that means Matthew  , but maybe Very Annie Mary would work. ) Gnat - hope things are looking up for you at work. My sister's going through a little office politics situation (anonymous of course) right now so I can see first hand the stress you must be feeling. Anyway hope it is lightening up. Do something nice for yourself today. :hug GG

Thursday
:alien: I have to say that today, I am feeling kinda mixed up. Went to the gym - #1 son didnt turn up - how unusual  but still did my workout. That makes 2 this week  and 2 half days of working (volounteer) at the Red Cross sorting out clothes for their new shop. However, I have been over at imdb/ioan gruffudd and I would have to say that I am very disappointed. I know many peeps over there (and here) dont like a certain someone, but the comments are now getting quite disgusting but I am determined not to go and buy conccie to cope - undo all that good work I have done this week. And then tomorow I am collecting for the Cancer Society's Daffodil Day :applaud:

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-30-2007

Marian - great job on working out. Resist, resist. Don't put the calories in your mouth. It's not worth it. I went for a ten mile bike ride yesterday and a couple miles today. I'm trying to get back into better shape, so I know how difficult it is. :hug GG

Frances- 08-30-2007

Great job working out, Marian, and it's good to hear that you find the time and willingness for some voluntary work for charities. This is something I have to take up, too. I'm with GG on the calories... don't put them in your mouth, not because of your disappointment at comments read on Ioan's IMDb board: it is not worth it.

Nice work on the working out and the charity work, Marian :-) Sylviane, I remember the days when my mum used to tidy my room. She cleaned it so well it made me want to revolt and rip my room to shreds again because I couldn't find anything! Honestly, why my parents don't believe me when I tell them it's easier to find things in a messy room, I'll never know. LOL. On the whole I've been feeling pretty good today, it was such lovely weather and that put me in good spirits. Also, I finally cracked the code that is picking my Year 10 subjects for next year. With a bit of luck I will have Advanced Maths, English, Psychology (VCE level), Chemistry, Biology, Physics (science girl, did you guess?), English and Team Sports (purely because you had to pick a sport class for at least one semester). Can I just add, it's great to see so many posts in this thread lately. I just felt like I'd say that because these types of threads are my favourites

Honestly, why my parents don't believe me when I tell them it's easier to find things in a messy room, I'll never know. LOL. It is easy to understand why your parents don't believe you when you tell them it's easier to find things in a messy room... because they can't actually find anything in your messy room much as you couldn't find anything in your room after your mother had tidied it up. I can also always find things in my mess because I usually remember where I put them and know where I have to go look for them and someone else tidying up my mess makes me want to strangle them because they do so following a logic that is not necessarily the same that I would use. Yes!! Exactly what I think too. Don't get me wrong, I like having a tidy bedroom but it's just so hard to keep it tidy and it seems so weird sitting in a perfectly tidy room (which is what my mum creates). They feel so un-lived in *shrugs*

Honestly, why my parents don't believe me when I tell them it's easier to find things in a messy room, I'll never know. LOL. Actually I believe you :!: I used to have the same problem with my mother cleaning up my ´disaster-area`when I still lived with them. Even now, I have my own little study and that place is stacked with books, dvd´s, videos, music, pictures, papers and I absolutely HATE it if someone enters my ´domaine´. It is a total mess, but I usually know where everything is. As far as Iris is concerned, having vivid memories of my own childhood :???:, She has several boxes in her room. One for her books, one for her make up, hair-things etc, one for her Winx-material, Barbies etc. My ´cleaning up´ usually consists of picking up everything off the floor and throw it in these boxes and other than that it´s up to her. I dust the shelves and clean the windows and that´s it. And a few times a year, when I´m in a sadistic mood, we go through the boxes and throw away things. Oh, I am such an awfull mother

Good work, indeed, Marian! I've gotten away from doing any kind of volunteer work, and I miss it. I'm always so exhausted after "real" work (not to mention depressed), but I know it would help to get out and do something. Not to tempt you further, but what is "conccie"? It must be good if it can counteract the imdb boards! FloMo

They feel so un-lived in *shrugs* Though I try to keep my home tidy (or at least I try to avoid a mess from getting too far), I'm not obsessed by tidiness either (yes, it is hard to keep homes tidy) and I'm also slightly scared by perfectly tidy rooms because they look so unlived in... come on, how is it possible that a home where people live is perfectly clean and tidy?

GNAT0629- 08-30-2007

Hey GG - things seem to be ok for now. Nothing more has happened and I've been acting "the good girl" and sticking to my desk and not talking much to people. It just seems safer that way. Kaitlyn - I understand the messy room thing. When I was a kid my best friend lived in a stye that was her room. She cleaned it, I think once a month. It was terrible. But she knew where and what everything was. And it never bothered me. I was jealous of her for having her own room at all. At the time I was sharing a bedroom with my mom as I had done since I was born. We always lived in either a one bedroom apartment, or a two bedroom but my aunt lived with us then so she got the second bedroom. Anyway, I digress.........I get the messy room. My house has much clutter. Much for someone who lives alone with naught but a useless cat who definitely does not do his share of the cleaning. *sigh*

Gaffer'sGirl- 08-30-2007

Gnat - Glad things are a little better. Hang in there. As to messy or neat - let's just say I could use a Mom to come tidy my house  especially my writing/ crafting area which includes just about every room in the house. My Mom always tsks when she comes over. When I was a kid I always shared a room with one or two sisters and didn't have much space or freedom to spread out, so I take advantage of it now. Zoo.station- I think it is great you are a science girl, so many girls avoid science and math. There is so much potential for a good career in those fields. Enjoy your studies. GG
