I'm sorry to hear this, Marian, but I join Gina in hoping counselling works and you will be able to pass your exam.

Gaffer'sGirl- 02-26-2008

Marian - you are certainly a lesson in persistence for all of us and working hard for what you want. I wish you luck with the counseling. Don't give up. You will find a way to get through it. :hug GG

Ladies, thanks for your support. Bes thing is the tutor and lecturers are helping too. StevieT - I will go looking for a bottle of Rescue Remedy today; I have also heard that it good, but I dont think it was in connection with panic/anxiety attacks.

GinaP- 02-26-2008

Hello Stevie, Marion, and all, Rescue Remedy is excellent to assist with stress that comes on suddenly, like at the time of an exam. It is a combination of "Bach Flower" remedies all formulated to deal with various forms of stress. I used them for a long time when I was in a job I absolutely hated. They really helped. Now I use lavender oil to help with general stress. Vitamin B complex is also good to nourish one's nerves. Whatever works. I try it all. Best of luck to you Marian, and thanks Stevie for mentioning Rescue Remedy! GinaP

Ladies, I currently don't have much time to reply in the forum, but I just have to say that you are all the most lovely, supportive folk... I get comfort from all of you, even when I do not suffer from any ailment or heartache. Your words are always so wise and loving. :love2: My thoughts and prayers go out to you all at this time, whether grieving the loss of a friend or an opportunity to grow (or graduate!) I just don't always get a chance to let you know you are in my thoughts. :thumbs up It is ever interesting to me how the arms of the internet can connect people from all corners of the world who have only met through a common interest, and then allow those relationships to blossom. I have blossomed even though I don't often add my words to those already here. (And Gnat, I blossom even tho I still have snow on the ground, too, tho not as much as you!!!) :hug Oh dear, I need to go do report cards... :hammer love and white light to all... Peace, Sally (Snogg) :Horatio wink:

Shipmate- 02-27-2008

I feel much the same way as you do,Snogg. There's a satisfaction and joy in knowing there are such lovely people out there somewhere to share common experiences and ideas. I know I'm always so glad, too, that I found this nice place.

StevieT- 02-27-2008

Snogg :hug it's wonderful to see you over here! I enjoy your wit and wisdom over on IMDB too

Bad luck keeps hitting on this side of the world. My cousin - who is 8 weeks pregnant and suffers from hyperemesis gravidarum - has been hospitalized earlier today because she was so dehydrated and could eat so little that she couldn't even stand. She suffered from the same condition during her first pregnancy - imagine that she lost 10 pounds by the fifth month of pregnancy back then -, but it seems to be much worse this time around.

Gaffer'sGirl- 02-27-2008

Oh Frances, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope they are able to help her and the baby at the hospital. Is there a safe medication they can give her to help or is help limited to IV's? I hope she recovers quickly.

Frances- 02-27-2008

At the moment, she's being given sedatives and anti-emetic medications along with IV's. If these do not work, she will have to be tube fed. My cousin is a bit worried for her baby, but the treatment she has to undergo is the lesser of two evils, as she couldn't have gone on like she was without her baby risking damages.

Gaffer'sGirl- 02-27-2008

I'm sure for her right now the health and safety of her baby is foremost in her mind.

StevieT- 02-27-2008

That's a nasty condition to have, Frances. I suffered from hyperemesis with my second pregnancy, but managed only to be hospitalised once for a few days. Things improved for me in the sixth month, but it sounds like your cousin has a really heavy form of the condition. Buckets of empathy to her :hug I would still rather have pain then nausea, to this day!

Frances- 02-27-2008

Ha, doctors told my cousin that 1% of pregnant women suffer from such a heavy form of hyperemesis, which is not a comforting thought, if you are that woman out of 100 suffering from it. Honestly, I'd also rather have pain than nausea.

marthe- 02-28-2008

Frances, I am also sorry to hear that. I wish your cousin a lot of strenght and courage in this difficult days. I hope she recovers soon. The other day I heard from the friend of my son that his baby (8 months) has a tumour around his little heart. My son told me that his friend cried the whole time and had to leave work. Oh what sadness in the world. Why on earth does that little baby deserve that. :?: Snogg and Shipmate I also feel the same satisfaction and joy that I can talk with lovely people who I have never seen but who have a great heart and a listening ear to all your problems and feelings. Great respect ladies

Frances- 02-28-2008

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear of that little baby with a tumour. A seriously sick baby is the worst that can happen to a family. I'll pray that your son's friend can see his baby recover.
