Kaitlyn, Sorry to hear your team lost. Was it an elimination game or do they play a series? Good on Dad to get you such a nice a picture.

It was an elimination game, sadly. There are 4 teams left, next week they split into two different matches and the winners of those matches go on to play the grand final. So, my team came pretty close but not close enough. ;-)

Sorry! That's always so disappointing.

Zoo.station - You didnt mention how you are feeling after Australia lost it's 20/20 cricket match to Zimbabwe.
I'm feeling quite good today. Big weekend at church; Sat, one of our former lady parishioners took her first vows as a sister with the Presentation Order; then sun was confirmation for about 10 kids and 1 adult. it was also the 6th anniversary of my becoming a Catholic.
Also, I went to the ballet on Sat night. The RNZB did a re-interpretation of Cinderalla. OMG!!! The costumes. No sequins, but thousands of Swarovski crystals on each costume.

:happy I didn't actually know they lost. They did beat Bangladesh, so that makes up for it.
I'm pretty happy 'cause I've got camp in an hour (to Tassie) and also because somewhere along the way I've gone up a rank to Major. I love going up ranks!

I am surprised that the media haven't made more of Aussie's loss to Zimbabwe and begun to hang out the funereal bunting. I think the Bangladeshis would have been too afraid to come out of the pavilion in case they got smacked aroudn the park
Enjoy camp.
Me?? Not so happy today - I really dont like it when people get snippy with me, but when I am a volunteer and someone gets snippy because I am applying for paid employment, well that makes me wonder if I really should be volunteering at all!!

Too bad, but I understand what you mean. I've also met people -seldom, but I did - who take volunteering as a mission and expect volunteers to deal with it as if it were their main purpose in life and are suprised if they apply for paid employment. :hug

Hey Kaitlyn - as a Cubs fan I feel your pain. And I'll be feeling in soon enough when they A) don't make the playoffs or B) make the playoffs and are embarrassed during the first series. They're keeping it really interesting. Last night when I saw the score they were down 6-4 in the 7th inning. And Milwaukee (who we're 1 game ahead of in our division) was winning 6-0. Next thing I hear this morning is that they managed to score 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th pulling out a nailbiter win 7-6!!! WHEW!!!!!!! They're seriously raising the blood pressure of every Cub fan right now. But they did this back in 2003 with Houston. It came down to the last series of the regular season and they pulled it off. Only to make it 5 outs away from the World Series and crumbled severely. Ah well. We shall what this year holds.
But anyway Kai, that was my long winded version of saying I'm sorry about your football team and I do feel ya on it. We underdog supporters must unite!!!

By the way.............Yay Me!! I just noticed that I made Lt. Col.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :applaud:

Congrats on the promotion. I salute you. We need a saluting smilie.

Yeah Gnat and Kaitlyn for your new ranks! Three cheers :applaud: :applaud:

thank you Frances, I'll take that as a verbal HUG.
Hired Kingdom of Heaven last night as I like the spirituality of the movie.
But not entirely happy today. Last year I wanted to create a ticker to put in a sig to countdown to my graduation. But only weddings, babies and other 'family' stuff was available. I wrote to ask about other occasions, and was told that the owner of the site was 'working on it'.
Received an email today saying that new stuff had been added to the site, and that personalisation of the tickers was available. Yeah right!! When I had finished personalising my ticker, the first line on the picture still said "wedding announcement".
Sent a nicely worded email complaining that weddings and babies were not everyone's priorities (still waiting for mine to arrive  ) and please could new occasions be added.
Cant see that happening, but so disappointed.
Gaffer'sGirl- 09-20-2007
Marian - Sorry you are having a rough day. Hope your ticker gets corrected as there are many events in peoples lives as important as a wedding or kids. How long is it until you graduate?
Frances- 09-20-2007
Marian, I hope your ticker gets corrected soon. It is incredible that they did not think to add a graduation ticker to that site: come on, weddings and babies are not everyone's priorities or better they are not people's only priorities. When will you graduate, Marian?
StevieT- 09-20-2007
How totally frustrating Marian! :hug Still, at least you have your graduation itself to look forward to; that must bring a great sense of achievement!
