How are YOU feeling?
This is a thread where everyone can post how they feel. Talk about little or big things, that don't really need a thread of their own. Kinda like the old 'Hijack this thread'.
I'm really excited because on November 5th, i'm going to a Michael Bublé concert in Antwerp!!
I love Michael Bublé.
Together with my sister. We've been meaning to visit Antwerp for a while now, but we never got to doing it. Now finally, we are going! We're gonna stay there for one night so we'll have plenty of time to visit Antwerp. Really looking forward to it.

Have a great time at the concert, HH!
I'm feeling rotten after a very confusing and difficult day at work. We're having communication meltdowns (again!) at all levels and it's really affecting morale.

Oooh! How exciting, I'd love to see Michael Bublé in concert
I've been a bit stressed lately with college assignments. In my business communications class I've had to do several speeches in front of the class. I'm not one for speaking in front of people. I get real nervous. I have a 5-minute speech to present Monday night along with a power point slide show. I am just ready to get it over with. Then August 15, I have a group presentation to do that will be 20 minutes.
Good news though... August 4 I go see Lifehouse and the Goo Goo Dolls in concert :applaud: and August 7 I go see John Mayer in concert!! I'm sooooo ready for a fun couple of nights away
Sarah, CherryCokeGrl, is going with me to both shows. We will have such fun together

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time at work again. Is it the office manager again?

I'm actually one of those weird people who enjoy speaking in public once I get started. I always find that if you pick several people in various places around the audience who are responding to what you are saying, make eye contact with them, in your head act as though you are relating to them like you would in a private conversation and it helps get rid of the nervousness and you should appear more natural. And practice, practice, practice so you're comfortable with the material. You will probably do much better than you think. In drama class, they used to tell us to transfer the nervousness to an object like a chair or the wall and use the rest for energy. I wish you good luck!

GG, thanks for the tips. I'll try and use them. I'll have to post when it is over with and let you know how it goes.

Thanks, GG. It's not so much her, although she doesn't help any (she's taken to leaving admonishing signs in the kitchen and bathroom). I'm feeling better this morning and hoping for a better day to end the week. And the same to all of you!

Definitely let us know. I meant to put that at the end of my post and  didn't. Hope all goes well.

I love speaking in public (can you tell? ) It's probably the Drama School training, but I enjoy 'playing' to an audience. I'm teaching Clinical Skills groups of nursing students at the Uni every month and it's fine, as GG says, as long as you know your stuff. I find it aironic that they will pay me more than twice as much for talking about the work than actually doing it!

Ain't it amazing? But so much more fun.

Aaaahhh!! I love Lifehouse! They hardly tour in Europe, i believe. Last time they were in Holland, is a few years ago. They're not very populair here.

I did my speech in class last night. It went well overall. I tried to make eye contact as best I could. The negative thing the instructor pointed out about my presentation was saying too many "ums" while talking. I was nervous though. Your tips were very helpful though, GG. Thanks!

HH, I hate when groups can't make all the stops while touring. I would love to see Keane in concert, but they rarely come to the US to tour. I love their sound :applaud:
Lifehouse is great live! You would love their show. :)

:applaud: So glad to hear it went well. The next time you have to do a speech it will go even better and now you're aware of them, you will probably eliminate most of your "ums". We may have a budding public speaker in our midst. Congratulations. :hug GG
