So glad to hear you found Solomon and Gaenor moving, Shipmate. I think it will always be one of my favorite movies, not just Ioan movies. When I was looking for a non-regional DVD player, I was told at both Target and Best Buy that the cheaper DVD players are frequently made without the chip that determines region, ergo they are non-regional. So, it might be a possibility. I haven't bought one yet to try, but I found it funny that the cheapest players may give you the possibility of more benefits. Though maybe the quality isn't as good. :dunno GG

Okay! I finally got my copy of S&G in the mail the other day and had some free time this afternoon to sit and watch it. Wow! I loved it :) Great movie. Just what I like - drama and romance. Ioan was fantastic in his role, and the actress who played Gaenor was excellent. Love the storyline. The love scenes were very tastefully done like others mentioned. I'm real happy I watched it. Though it was hard to watch the scenes where Ioan is beaten up. :unsure: Definitely worth the $5 I paid for the VHS. :applaud:

YAY!! Robyne was nice enough to let me watch S & G with her! We were both totally excited when she got it in the mail. I had been waiting a long time to see it & it was sooo worth the wait! All I can say about Ioan's performance is WOW!! He is such a talented actor! He can really pull off a romantic/drama!! The emotions he shows and the effort he puts into his movies always blow me away. I loved the whole storyline (except for the very teary ending), and the whole cast did a marvelous job. Every scene was very tastefully done and I loved the costumes esp. the beautiful red dress!! --Sarah

It's one of my favorite Ioan performances too. And the story! Aaah! One of those that is great to play when you need a good cry. I'm glad to hear you girls got to see it and can share in talking about it. GG

Ioan's mother is supposedly in this film. Anyone know which scene she is in? At imdb.com, Gill Griffiths is listed as "first woman" in the cast listing. This made me curious :)
