Well I agree, put those pics of Ioan and Tony next to eachother and I, too, had to chuckle. But Josh Brolin as Bush?! Oh, come on! That is stretching the imagination... :twisted:

Maybe this guarantees the make-up Dept. will qualify for an Oscar nod. :wink: An actor's life is illusion. Personally, I'd rather look at those actors than someone who can exactly imitate the characters, but can't act.

A wonderful actress and once in costume she literally became The Queen, her look, her mannerisms. To become someone else is the mark of a great actor. Ioan has that in him. This is his opportunity to show that to everyone. I'm really pleased for him! Susie D.

Ooooooo, I'm pleased for him,too! Evidently, Stone senses something about Ioan that puts him in mind some way or other (mannerisms, facial movements, etc.) of Mr. Blair. Let's hope this is a move toward something really big for the Welshboy! Fingers crossed-----

As I said in another thread I will need a lot of convincing to me it will be all down to the make up department when it comes to looks.

Just a couple of sweet mentions from the Guardian's Film talkboard......... The Last Film You Saw #7009 - Cindylover1969 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (as its onscreen title reads). Not only is Ioan Gruffudd's dance floor shape-throwing preferable to Tobey Maguire's in Spider-Man 3, but the rest of the film is also an improvement on Spidey's third go-round. Even if the movie almost achieves the impossible feat of making Jessica Alba look unattractive sometimes (not because of the contacts, but because of the glasses she wears in several scenes).

Having seen both Spidey 3 and FF2 - I have to agree with the blogger that Ioan's dance and the movie was preferrable. Not just because Ioan is more attractive to me than Tobey, but Reed's dance managed to be sexy and funny at the same time. I didn't feel that way about Spidey's.

Annee I think the reference is to a breed of sheep called the Black Welsh (which is actually brown - go figure!). Especially as this is a knitter's blog. I knitted an aran jumper from Black Welsh wool years ago for a friend, and I remember how heavy and oily it was - ideal stuff for Welsh hill farmers!
