Question
The film also boasts the voice talents of Neve Campbell, Brian Cox, former 007 Roger Moore and Gruffudd's real-life fiancee, Alice Evans. I'd like to know how his wife got brought into the mix. What I mean is: Was it because of Ioan?

zoo.station- 10-13-2007

I have no idea whether it had something to do with Ioan being in the movie too but each time I think of Agent Crush all I think about is how Chris Evans said it was a bad idea to work on a movie with your partner, considering his relationship with Jessica Beil messed up after he worked with her; apparently.

StevieT- 10-14-2007

Sometimes, I think it might just be convenience. there's this small part for a woman's voice.....know anyone not working at present, Ioan?......etc, etc. Nepotism - Hollywood thrives on it.

Shipmate- 10-14-2007

I'm inclined to agree with you,Stevie. I wouldn't doubt if the conversation took place just about the way you said,...say maybe at a party, chance meeting at lunch one day,etc..

Frances- 10-14-2007

I don't know how AE came to be cast for Agent Crush, but it is possible the her being Ioan's fiancée played to her favour. each time I think of Agent Crush all I think about is how Chris Evans said it was a bad idea to work on a movie with your partner, I tend to agree with Chris Evans. My personal experience also tells me that it is a bad idea to mix business and friendship/love because when you work with a friend, relative, or partner, competition and comparison becomes too direct, because it is difficult to judge and relate to a co-worker who is also your friend/relative/partner in a balanced way leaving your personal feelings out of the way, because the risk is there that you bring work home all too often.

In this case, it must have worked out okay though, huh? I mean they have weathered it through 'til now............

Frances- 10-14-2007

Yes, it must have worked out ok for them. Anyway, I guess doing the voiceover for Agent Crush has not been as time-consuming for them as it would have been shooting a feature film together and AE's involvement must have been very little.

StevieT- 10-14-2007

... and AE's involvement must have been very little. Yeah, she's not even mentioned on the site.....I doubt it was a problem

Gaffer'sGirl- 10-14-2007

For a few like Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward working together has worked out very well. Now I'm really dating myself. Not that I'm equating talent. It would be difficult to find a woman out there with the talent of Woodward, just that they are a long lasting couple who have worked together.

Re: Question
I'd like to know how his wife got brought into the mix. What I mean is: Was it because of Ioan? I read an interview with one of the producers (actually could have been the director...not sure) a few months ago where he said Ioan "brought in" Alice. I can't remember exactly what else he said and I've had no luck searching for the article but I took it as meaning Ioan suggested her, or asked that she be given the part. :dunno If I do find it I'll post it. I don't think working together on this would have been a problem. In fact they probably didn't record on the same days, so I'm not sure it would even qualify as working together.

It was a passing comment, I wasn't suggesting anything.

Watch the Trailer and an Extended Movie Clip from AGENT CRUSH http://www.collider.com/entertainment/news/article.asp?aid=6114&tcid=1 Director Sean Robinson and his brother Barrie are trying to bring back the classic art of rod puppeteering. They’ve recently made a feature film called “Agent Crush” and they got a solid cast of actors supplying their voices – including Ioan Gruffudd, Neve Campbell, Roger Moore, Brian Cox and Brian Blessed. While the film doesn’t yet have a release date, I was able to get the trailer and a very long clip from the film and it’s below the official synopsis. Just know before you watch that the movie is aimed at kids…. It is two hundred years into the future, much has changed, but one thing remains a constant, crime and it's getting a little bizarre. Boris Goudphater ("Good-farter") is a first prototype cyborg developed by the World Security Network (WSN) to combat crime. The experiment failed due to a dangerous defect. Goudphater manages to survive the de-commissioning process and escapes. Horribly disfigured and angry, he is at large and out for revenge. Agent Crush is a second prototype cyborg, and is trying to prove himself as a secret agent. Crush has been furnished with all types of superhero gadgets but he is prone to bumbling accidents and causes havoc wherever he goes. Accompanied by his genius inventor sidekick, Spanners and Spanner's daughter Cassie, his la-*test*-('") mission is to stop Goudphater from exploding a nuclear device in the center of the Earth's magma core and causing every volcano to erupt, destroying the Earth. A spectacular flying car chase through the streets of New York and the underground lava caverns leads to an explosive climax. Can Crush prove to the world that he is the man for the job and save the Earth in time?
