Funny details and other Fantastic stuff
Woo-hoo! I finally got it! The DVD I've been drooling since february. Fantastic 4. (Just in time to watch before FF2 comes on theathres) THE DVD. Been fingering it in the stores for a long time. Unfortunately the salespersons seems to think that Ioan's head is the best place to put the prize sticker. This is what angried me the first time I read the backside text (still does): "Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Mikhael Chiklis lead the sexy starcast in this exploding etc." What? Triple What? Isn't it IOAN who's the leading sex wrapped in spandex?! (does that rhyme?) The one I bought the movie for! And who's supposed to play the leading character! Not a single mention on the text! This is wrong... Funny detail is, that two out of the three "praise quotes" from press reviews are from high class women's magazines. You'd suppose youth mags to praise a movie like this but then again, Ioan gushers are classy ladies... Funny detail nr 2 is that the DVD not only has the original English sound track BUT also a Hungarian dubbing for the film! Why Hungarian, I wonder. It sounds bit like Finnish but there's not a single word I'd understand. It's funny though see them all "speak" like Bela Lugosi. *** WATCHING the film. Alas, it was thundering outside, lightnings flashing at distance, and all electronics had to be unplugged when I realised my laptop doesn't need to be plugged and replaced the tv with it. My 10 year old brother asked a question in a rather sarcastic tone the second Ioan walked on screen: "Why do I think that man looks like Hornblower...?" "Why, indeed..." Anyway we enjoyed the film. Unlike some films, this one pushed up the speed till the end. I didn't quite get it, the film, but it didn't bother either. I guess it's one of those films you end up watching a dozen of times without realizing it. Anyway, IOAN, he's cute, as always, looking more mature (or is it just the grey?) and I think the beginning of the film is where he is at his best. The best/worst bit was in the extra "Fantastic tour" Ioan telling straight to the camera how he had just vomitted his breakfast.

I finally bought the DVD myself about a week ago. LOVE it!! It is a really cool fun movie! Yeah, that stinks how they left Ioan out of the back cover details. UGH!! I watched it for a second time & picked up on a lot more than I did the first time. I also watched the commentary with Ioan, Jessica, and Michael and that was pretty interesting. :)

I'm looking forward for watching it with the commentary :mrgreen: I did pick this silly little detail in the movie: Stan Lee (the "creator" of FF)has a short cameo as a postman bringing letters to Mr. Reed.

We'll have to wait till August for FF2...

Darn! So you have about another month to go before you can see FF2. You'll enjoy it, anyway: FF2 is worth the wait.

Yeah, that was funny/gross when Ioan says in the "behind the scenes" in Mexico that he felt like sh!t that morning and he threw up his breakfast. If it was anyone else I would have been so disgusted to hear that, LOL ;)

Sorry for bringing this old topic up but I just got this dvd and it was hilarious hearing the behind the scenes commentary. It seemed as though you could barely hear Ioan and you could hear Jessica and Michael just fine...hmmm. I remember the scene came on when Sue Storm and Dr. Doom are fighting and Dr. Doom starts choking Sue. Jessica said "I was really being choked by Julian in this scene" or something similar to that. Ioan said "was he rough with you?" in a joking way and I burst out laughing because it just did not sound right. For some reason it was odd/funny to hear him say something like that because he seems like the type of person who usually doesn't.

If I remember right, there were moments when you could hear Ioan giggling by himself... Sometimes I wondered, if the others in the commentary sort of missed the jokes Ioan was playing?

Ioan does seem to have his own unique sense of humor, doesn't he? Most of the time I find it refreshing.

We also don't know what was happening in the background that we couldn't see. The five actors in this seem to have that easy relationship that comes from working closely with someone. And I agree - Ioan seems to have a lovely sense of humour when he is relaxed. :cool:

Sometimes he says something, I cannot really understand why it's funny, but it is... Sort of like cat macros :D Maybe I should watch it again, I can't remember the joke I just remember I was laughing so hard at some remark he made.
