So would I. Any time now,Guys, any time you're ready---we're ready too.............

StevieT- 07-01-2009

The picture may be getting a little clearer, Ladies! Seems the film's distributors are in trouble, but will still launch Fireflies.... Senator still will go out with at least one its smaller releases—the Julia Roberts drama "Fireflies in the Garden," which is set for late summer. http://www.filmjournal.com/filmjournal/content_display/news-and-features/features/movies/e3id2aff40c7008d4169a9b907b21c49684 Many thanks to Coolinout1 at IMDB

Thanks for the extra info. That makes things a little clearer.

I spent some time trying to figure out what P&A stands for, then it dawned on me that it may mean Print & Advertising. So smaller projects may turn out to suffer less from the financial crisis?

Shipmate- 07-03-2009

Well, I knew there HAD to be something going on with this movie. I'm glad we at least know now. Still hope we get to see it,even if it has to go straight to dvd,or something like that.

Red Admiral- 07-25-2009

Well, I'm getting sick of waiting to see this film, and am inclined to agree with Shipmate, that it will probably go straight to DVD. I suppose it's possible that it may go to an arthouse cinema. Unfortunately, the one I have in Leicester has closed, and we are awaiting the opening of a new Digital Media Centre. Perhaps it may be shown there.

Hi Red Admiral, Somehow I just don't see FfitG going completely to seed (So sorry about that pun!). With stars like Julia Roberts and Wilhem DeFoe in it......surely they would want to salvage as many $$$$$$s out of it as they could. :dunno

Red Admiral- 07-28-2009

Rats!! I've just seen it advertised as being on at a cinema in a town about 13 miles north. Unfortunately, it was only on for two days, in the middle of the week, so I was working and couldn't have gone. I looked at some previous issues of my local paper, only to discover that, prior to this showing, it had been on at Stamford Arts Centre, which is about 30 miles away, and only accessible by train. The stupid thing is that there was no proper advertising, apart from the original review when FitG was originally released, but didn't appear anywhere outside London. :wall: :wall:

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-28-2009

It's too bad you missed it, Red. I'm still hoping it will play somewhere near me. If not, someday there will be a DVD and I'm waiting for that, too.

Shipmate- 07-29-2009

I'm sorry you missed the showings, too,RA,it's pretty frustrating. That distributor must not even have adequate funds for advetising at present, and THAT'S pretty bad too!!
