The Guardian Weekend Guide (page 19) today announces that Fireflies is out in the UK on Friday, describing it as "an emotional family drama". I feel a movie trip coming on...........

Good for you,Stevie, let us know what you think, huh?? Our turn here next month---June 26th!!!!!

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-23-2009

Hope it's playing near you, Stevie.

StevieT- 05-24-2009

Me too. Being a city with both mainstream and arthouse cinemas, we tend to get most things somewhere along the line (I guess the culture and convenience is one reason I'm a city girl!)

Gaffer'sGirl- 05-24-2009

Those are the times I wish I was also..

Some interesting little give aways in this review...... Throw in Michael’s sexy ex-wife (Carrie Ann Moss), and the discovery of his mother’s secret lover (Ioan Gruffudd), and you’ve got an all-star soap opera...... http://www.list.co.uk/article/17982-fireflies-in-the-garden/

Think you're going to be able to go see it,Stevie?

StevieT- 05-28-2009

It's not showing up yet, but I'm certainly going to try! (miss possible Welshboy love scenes? Are you mad, Matie???????  )

I don't know what to think. I would have thought a few advertisements would have been out by now on tv for FfiG, but haven't seen a thing yet! Julia Roberts is supposed to be on with David Letterman sometime this week-----but she'll probably get side-tracked talking about other things,I suppose. (She was giving an interview this morning, and only talked about her work with the late actor Paul Newman's charity "The-Hole-In-The-Wall" childrens' organization.) So,just more waiting,I guess........ :whistle :whistle :whistle :whistle :whistle

I read that Julia Roberts is supposed to be on with David Letterman on Tuesday, 9 June. It is likely that she will be sidetracked mainly talking about other things, even when they touch her acting, considered that she's been in another project (Duplicity) after "Fireflies in the Garden" and she is supposed to do "Valentine's Day" (filming is scheduled to start this summer) and "Eat, Pray, Love" (alongside Javier Bardem) soon. Hopefully, she will manage to sneak a few words about "Fireflies in the Garden" into the conversation though, as it can do with some publicity.

Gaffer'sGirl- 06-08-2009

I'm wondering if it will only be released in big cities or art house theaters. I'm going to keep an eye on The Rose or the Poulsbo theaters in this area. Please come out soon!

Shipmate- 06-29-2009

OKAY,okay,okay.....I give UP!!!!!!! Now,JUNE has gone by,and STILL no FfitG!!!!! Has anybody heard ANYTHING about the mysterious release date of this film in the US???????? :dunno :no no :hammer :dunno

StevieT- 06-29-2009

Strange, isn't it? In the UK there are reviws everywhere, even in my local paper, but no sign of the film itself! :wall:

Shipmate- 06-29-2009

Nope. Don't get it a'tall! :hammer

Gaffer'sGirl- 06-30-2009

Neither do I, especially since Ryan Reynolds has had two movies out this Spring and Julia Roberts has had one, too. You'd think they'd piggyback on it. Poor Ioan. Must be frustrating to do the work and have very little opportunity for people to see it. I sure like to see it. Soon!
