Does it take so long to release because of having to re-do the soundtrack and all that kind of thing? (Sorry if my ignorance is showing here!)

Gaffer'sGirl- 03-17-2008

Sometimes it has to do with distributor deals, but I wouldn't be surprised if translation issues had something to do with it. But I don't know for sure.

I have no idea why it take so long to release. Having to do the dubbing or the subtitling of the extras may have something to do with it.

Jut got to watch FF2 for the first time
Hi --- #1 son now downloads from itunes, so I got to see FF2 this weekend. I loved it. I thought it was much better than FF2. Loved the weddings -- #1 and #2. Loved the Silver Surfer. And I hated Victor -- he is so good at making me hate him!! It was a great evening of fun with the family. Isn't that exactly what FF2 was supposed to be?? Charbv

Gaffer'sGirl- 03-17-2008

Agreed, Charbv. Though not my favorite Ioan project, I find the FF movies a light bit of fun and that is what they are intended to be. Neither the movies nor the original comics were intended to be dark or heavy like Batman or Spiderman.

It was funny, in church today the pastor used the FF2 movie as an example of how to not communicate with your spouse. He showed the clip of Jessica Alba and Ioan, where she puts the force-field around him to stop him long enough to talk. I just giggled. I definitely wasn't expecting to see Ioan this morning, let alone at church, haha!

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-27-2008

Amazing Grace I would have expected Jeepy, but not FF2. Wish our church would use a little Ioan. . Might spice things up.

Thanks for the smile that raised, Jeep! I could have used a force field or two during my marriage  I had a lovely FF2 experience the other day too......a very sick 4yr old little boy I was nursing was watching the movie for the umpteenth time. His Dad sid it was his favourite and we got talking about Ioan (naturally). Dad's a big fan of Hornblower, and he commented that he preferred Ioan (indicating Mr. F) in 'more macho' roles likes Lancelot. Turned out they were from Dublin and he had watched them filming King Arthur! Now, I don't know whether it was the fact that Ioan had finally reached 'macho', or the effect of having him on loop all day while I worked, but Saturday was a good day!

Stevie, you see that the world is small. And it must be fine to meet somebody at work who is a fan of Ioan. I also once had that at work. There was a man who came for a repair and when he saw the pictures of Ioan hanging in my office, he said that he was a great fan of Ioan and the series of Horatio. That always gives me a warm feeling when people you do not know, talk about Ioan.

LOL!! Amazing Grace I would have expected Jeepy, but not FF2. Wish our church would use a little Ioan. . Might spice things up. GG, I would've guessed they'd use Amazing Grace over any other film with Ioan, but FF2 did the trick, in reference to the lesson on Sunday. Never suspected they would show a clip with Ioan :applaud:

Aww, Stevie, that is so cute the little boy is a big fan of FF2  That's neat his dad is a fan of Ioan's film work too  Lovely meeting others who enjoy Ioan's work.

Gaffer'sGirl- 07-28-2008

I can't hang any pictures at my work as I'd have to hang them on my body, but I have had a few discussions about Ioan with a couple of other women who find him quite attractive which is fun. That is a wonderful story about the little boy and his Dad, Stevie. Nice that it gives them a little relief from everything they're going through. Must have been fun to watch the filming of King Arthur. Did he say what scenes he watched?

StevieT- 07-28-2008

He watched them building the sets and blocking through fight scenes (his brother was an extra!) and then filming the battle scenes - he said he was fascinated ( and I loved hearing all this described in that lovely soft Irish burr. ) I'm still thinking about your average male recognising the fire in that role - Ioan really made an impression with Lance........ :rider

Shipmate- 07-28-2008

So much fun hearing all this,Stevie. Yeah,Sir Lancelot sure does make his :naughty impression, all right!!!!! :cold shower 1 :faint
