Fantastic Four on FX
I just happen to be channel surfing ( my favorite pastime) and I saw where Fantastic Four was bing shown on FX, so I thought I would check it out for old time's sake. When it came on it was a TOTALLY different beginning - it showed yellow colored pictures of all the characters with dark black lines (that's not a great description) Some of the other "NEW" scenes (at least to me were these: 1) Jessica and Ioan in a storeroom and he is looking for something but she sees a red box with her name on it and goes to reach for it - pulls it out but the shelf starts to fall and Ioan stretches and stops it but lands on top of her (there are pics of this pose with his lying on top of her) 2) Jessica and Julian are having dinner after Sue zaps Reed with her force sheild - Victor starts to hint that maybe they are rekindling their old flame and he "reminds" her who she works for and to get this resolved. He walks out on her in the restaurant and she goes invisible with embarassment. 3) Johnny is shown in the elevator and a beuatiful girl walks in - Johnny is turned on (so to speak) by this girl so he heats up the elevator - the girl starts talking about how hot it is and starts to remove her jacket - She is smiling and walks out of the elevator and this scene is repeated several times over with Johnny and different groups of women - too funny. 4) After the cosmic storm it shows Ioan, Jess and Julian knocked out on the space station floor - the emergency lights start coming on and it shows each one of them coming out of their daze - they ask each other if they are okay and then Ioan yells "BEN" and then they all go over and open the hatch, you can't see Ben - he is on his side away from the viewers but the last thing you see is Ioan raising his shield and they are all staring at him - then it goes to the scene where Johnny and Ben are in the quarantine room. 5) After Ben sees Ioan and Jess in the stockroom - he is shown watching a tape of his last birthday part - it is sad and he is getting depressed - then he gets his coat and leaves - Johnny meets him in the elevator hallway - then Johnny pops his popcorn. These are just a few of the differences, the movie is still going - is this off an extended version? I have just the regular - was there a special edition I have missed with these "extra" scenes? If so, I need to get myself to the store right away - I LIKED these added extras.

I don't recall seeing these scenes in my version or as deleted scenes. They sound cute and a good addition to the movie. I hope they'llplay it again. Thanks for sharing.

I recognise scenes 2, 3 and 4, but not the others. Weird! I think my copy (Region 2) is the same as the one I saw on the cinema (in the UK). :dunno :FF4:

It's been awhile since I watched it, but I sure don't remember those scenes. Maybe Region One didn't have them. Thought the Johnny and the elevator seemed familiar. Maybe it was in the trailer or something. That happens often where a scene is in the trailer and not in the released movie.

There was a DVD released that had some extra deleted scenes, including the scene with Ioan and Jess in the store-room. I believe it was a Region 2...not UK though. I'm thinking Spanish???

I remember scenes 2, 3 and 4, but not the others. It's been quite a while since I last saw FF though, so I can't say whether if scenes 1 and 5 were there and I forgot them or whether they weren't actually there.

Just had a "TV Reminder" pop up that said Fantanstic Four would be on FX again - tonight at 6:30 Central Standard Time. I hope it is the same version that they showed the other night with all the added "extras". This time I am going to record it and then I will have the "extras". I hope others that are curious will see this message before it comes on and will get a chance to watch this version also. Have a GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!

Well, I missed the first part of it because the end of Titanic on TNT caught my eye. How can anybody skip "Is anybody out there?" :wink: Anyway from the point I watched it, there were quite a few scenes I don't remember from the movie. Some were just extensions of scenes there, but a lot of the gallery stuff with Alicia and Ben, also the scenes with Johnny in the bar, I don't remember. I felt having them in the theatrical version would have helped it rather than hinder it. The characters and their motivations would have been more flushed out. I suppose they have to leave something new for when they show it on television. Since they were appealing to a younger audience in the theater, I suppose they made the decision, shorter is better.
