Thanks for the update, Annee! Yes, FF3 is very probably not a movie they can cram in. I've always thought that they would wait and see how FF2 fared in theatres before setting about the making (from scratch) of FF3, so I've always expected that if a FF3 is ever to be made, it will likely be ready for release a couple of years after FF2 (the same time that separated the release of FF and FF2).

Leaving the negativity emerging from the blog entry (come on, FF and FF2 were not masterpieces, but they were not terrible either) aside, I like the idea of baby Franklin: it could bring much fun and surprises to the movie.

Have to agree the addition of Franklin would make for intriguing complications for the Fantastic Four. I hope they look at that option. Of course, diehards will probably not like whatever they choose to do with Franklin. Hard to get through some peoples heads that movies can never be exactly like the original material that spawned it.

Baby Franklin seems like he would be a very cute, natural addition to the whole mix of these movies to me. I know it is a departure from the original, but how many times has THAT happened in film history, hmm?! There could be so many funny scenarios to it all............

Well now Jessica Alba's annonunced she is pregnant. Coupled with the writers strike a sequel could be a while in the making me thinks! Susie D

More than likely, unless of course they had a third script near to finished before the strike. They could start up quickly since they probably have a lot of sets, ect. in cold storage. And it would be in Vancouver. They could concivably shoot next fall if the strike doesn't go on too much longer. Wasn't it two years between one and two?

Independently from Jessica Alba's pregancy and the writers' strike, I've always thought that they would put between FF2 and FF3 the same time distance that there was between F and FF2 (2 years), so I wasn't expecting FF3 to start filming before late next summer or early next fall.

Or never. She will probably have a revelation once the baby is born and decide she doesn't want to do Fantastic Four anymore.

But the $$$$$$$ may be too good, Zoo ----and there may be contractual beasties for her to consider as well.

If my memory is not failing me, Ioan, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis were signed on or optioned to make 3 FF movies, so if Twentieth Century Fox decides to produce FF3, Jessica Alba would have to pay herself out to be allowed to not do it.

Eh...maybe it was just my hopeful thoughts talking away. Both because, a) I don't want a 3rd Fantastic Four, it's gone on for long enough and b) It'd save a lot of rude comments about how Jessica Alba carries the movies and how Ioan and her can't act to save their life.

I'd rather see Ioan doing movies like AG or The TV Set (or any of his other projects filmed before FF) than another FF, too, and I agree that it would save a lot of rude comments about Jessica Alba's and Ioan's acting skills, if no more FF were to be made, but I guess that if Twentieth Century Fox decide that FF3 has the potential to make them earn money, the WGA strike and Jessica Alba's pregnancy will only have the effect of putting off FF3 filming and, therefore, release.
