Cyd Charisse
I have to take a moment here to write a little about a very sad passing. Miss Cyd Charisse died last night at the age of 86. She was a beautiful woman, dancer, actress. Very talented and it's truly a sad loss to the world of entertainment. I grew up watching a lot of the old classics - musicals, comedies, black/white pix. It's sad to see so many of these wonderful actors passing on because it is an end to a great era in Hollywood. Back when you had to actually have talent to make it. Back when everybody was innocent. Back before "stalkerazzi" felt compelled to expose everybody's dirty little secrets. Because really? Do we really need to know every facet of these people's lives?? I, for one, don't think so. But times were different back then and Cyd Charisse was part of that. She was a beautiful and talented lady and it's sad to read of her passing.
I agree with you there, Gnat. She was one of my Mom's favorites, too.
My grandmother used to like Cyd Charisse very much. I'm sorry to hear of her passing.
That woman had "legs". They don't make like that anymore. She was such a graceful dancer. They showed tonight some of her dancing with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. Just a quick reminder for me why I love those musicals.
Syl - absolutely!
She had it all and it's a great loss for the rest of us.
Hi Syl! Boy, I sure agree about those legs! Such wonderful grace and beauty in the dance.
Haven't seen too much of that lately. Some of the young female hoofers around today would do well to watch some of her films and takes some cues. . . . .
