A third one does seem quite possible, if you go buy the amount of money it has earnt and I'd like to see if they can improve on the second one. Fingers crossed for the F4 fans that there is another one! Thanks for all the box office information, everyone who has posted it, good job!

Fingers crossed for the F4 fans that there is another one! Though, FF2 cost about 30% more to produce and it grossed about 15% less than FF in the US after the same numbers of weeks out in theatres, I also think it is possible that we will see FF3.

I do hope they make a third one.....but they can add more action. I know for a fact they're making a Silver Surfer movie. Which would be cool because I think he was the best character in this last movie. But yes, there's still room to improve on this franchise.

Do DVD sales count with how well a movie did in general?

Do DVD sales count with how well a movie did in general? I think it does, at least to a certain extent. I don't think Box Office Mojo considers them in their data, though.

I hope ff 3 begins soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the studios and distribution companies how a movie does with DVD sales, pay per view, premium channels, and toys has a huge effect on making sequels. Sometimes movies that don't perform wonderfully in the theater will get an opportunity for a sequel if they have cleaned up in the ancillary markets. Making money is what matters most. How it makes that money may effect future marketing and budgets. Like Frances, I don't know think Box Office Mojo counts those markets. GG
