Board lurking.
I know I have been remissin posting. Its been rather busy. So while I was gone... I am learning how to knit. I am learning how to butcher yarn in new and exciting ways with a crochet needle even though people told me crochet would be easier to learn. We were robbed. (jewelry only) Still creeped out that someone was in the house. and we could have lost one of the cats since she got outside. I went on Adderall which is actually 'amphetamine salt'. ( ....weeeeeeee :) ) for my ADD Inherited a little bit of money and paid off all the rest of the my debts. Discovered the origin of my Death by Dork gene. Its through my mother who, after extensive foot surgery, managed to fall asleep sitting up, fall of the couch and break her big toe on her bad foot. Got my ears pierced. No more virgin lobes. This was only a week ago so yes I am cleaning them and yes I am turning them. Began getting "will be graduating soon, must get good job" panic attacks. That should sum things up.

Learning how to knit and crochet is going to be in my list of new year's propositions. Actually, my granny taught me a little bit, so I already know the basics, but I want to improve my knitting and crocheting skills. I know how you must feel after your housed was robbed. My granny was robbed, too, a few years ago and she said that what was hardest to cope with was not the loss of her jewellery (which was something she said she could live without), but rather the idea that strangers got into her home, uninvited.

Thanks for the update, Mim. I learned to knit and crochet from my Grandmother. I enjoy crocheting more because I see the pattern faster. Hope you enjoy learning it. We were robbed once, too. Even though I only lost a camera, it was a very unsettling feeling. Congrats on coming close to graduation. It's scary, but a huge accomplishment.

An eventful time, Mim! I used to knit alot, until my hands got bad. I loved doing Arrans and Kaffe Fassett patterns. Now the laptop has taken over the space on my knee when I'm watching telly.... :whistle Sorry to hear about the robbery (and your Mum's toe - bummer! Just after my hand surgery last year, I tripped oversomething in the bedroom and came crashig down on it; I think the cast saved it  ) I admit to being 25 before I got my ears peirced!

I admit to being 25 before I got my ears peirced! I was 11 when I got my ears pierced. I would have gotten them pierced earlier, because I've loved earrings since when I can remember, but my mum was scared (actually, she was almost 40 when she got her ears pierced and I can recall having to go with her and hold her hand  ). Unfortunately, I can't buy as many earrings as I'd like to because I can only wear gold.

Mine were pierced at 16 - the earliest I was allowed. I had a problem with some earrings. The holes closed up and I had them re-pierced several years later when I could afford more expensive earrings and I still had problems, so now - no earrings. Most the time I don't mind, but when my hair is really short, I'd like to have them, especially because I can't wear eye makeup very often anymore.

It was just the other way 'round for me,Frances. My mom got her ears pierced first--and I was the chicken, until she finally talked me into doing it. I've loved them ever since. ------------------------ Sorry to hear of your break-in,Mim. How creepy! I'm sure it makes for a very vulnerable feeling.-----------------------------Hang in there about graduation.....you'll do just fine,I'm sure!!!! Love, Ship :Horatio wink:

Well Mim, I'm glad you've kept yourself busy! Good luck with everything. And yes, keep turning and cleaning. I was 5 when I got my ears pierced and they did get infected. Well, I think it was one ear really, but I remember the pain and it was gross to boot. So keep cleaning and turning! And welcome to the pierced ear club!
