The was a 21yr old Welshman called Griffith Griffith amongst the 821 men on Nelson's flagship HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.

Hmmm! Could be a very distant relative for me, but it would be very distant. From our records, most of my ancestors were in the U.S by the mid 1700's.
I would have never thought that there were so many nationalities in the crews involved in the Battle of Trafalgar, but I guess it is logical, considered that the nations directly involved had colonies they could enlist crew members from and other nations were likely to take one side or the other and send men to fight.
