That is great Frances that you visited Monet's house. I would also like to visit it. I love his work a lot and it is great that you ladies, also love it.

Frances- 12-06-2008

I hope you'll get the chance to visit Monet's house, Marthe: its garden is gorgeous during Spring and Summer. Giverny is 80 km (50 miles) north of Paris, it shouldn't be too difficult to reach from where you live.

marthe- 12-06-2008

Oh yes Frances, it is not so far. I just looked it up. The distance Courtrai Belgique-Giverny France is 314 km or 200 miles. And I have found his garden, wauw so lovely, thanks a lot Frances. It is certainly a nice trip to do. I have noted in my agenda.

Oh! How beautiful,Marthe! Gorgeous, and peaceful........look at that lovely willow tree........I almost expect a knight (Lancelot perhaps?)to come riding around the corner from there any moment now...............................

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-08-2008

What an image. Great picture - great vision - Good night! or should that be Good Knight :rider

marthe- 12-09-2008

Yes Ship, a knight who takes you on his horse and drives you through this lovely garden full of romance or who takes you in his arms near that willow tree ....

A few pics of the recent brief snow we had...... .......Front Garden.......My Cherry Tree....View across the Tyne.......Shipyard Ghosts........Clean Lines..... And in the centre of Newcastle (before the snow, we had a Xmas market).......

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-10-2008

Those look so Christmas-y. We still haven't ad snow though they are predicting possible sea level snow next week. If we do, I'll take some pics.

Frances- 12-11-2008

Very nice pics, Stevie, and I agree with GG that they are so Xmasy. Actually, as Xmas lights are going up over here, I'm beginning to feel in a Xmas mood.

Shipmate- 12-11-2008

It's beginning to look a lot like.................lovely shots,General,.................all we've had here for the last three days is drizzle and rain...............can make for some pretty depressed feelings, let me tell you------But, if I don't pay any attention to it.........it's not so bad, really! Hahahaha! I AM starting to wonder, however, IF it's ever going to STOP!

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-12-2008

We have a good chance at snow in the next day or so. We're certainly going to be cold enough for it. Last night, we got down to the freezing level, so if it's going to be that cold, it may as well snow. So, at least we'll have the pretty.

marthe- 12-13-2008

This morning I heard on the radio that there is heavy snow weather in 7 States in the Nord of America and that there has been a strong ice storm. I saw the pictures on the newspaper of Internet. And there is no more power du to this weather. Girls from America, did you also have snow and such problems ? Here in Belgium it is very cold and perhaps snow this evening.

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-14-2008

We are getting some snow in Washington tonight. Not a whole lot in my area. I don't know for sure where the ice storm you heard of Marthe happened, but it could be East Coast as they had snow all the way to New Orleans. I did hear that Montana had a lot of snow, but that's not unusual for that state. Let us know if you get snow in Belgium.

marthe- 12-14-2008

We got no snow, only some snow rain. It is dark weather and not at all pleasant to make a walk with Rex.

Gaffer'sGirl- 12-14-2008

We got a few inches of snow. I'll post some pictures later. Now the drive to work on slippery roads.
