Battle of the Epic Penny War
..Which ended back in April but hey:
There was strife. There were plots. There were competitive chortles and face making, as there are in all wars. But finally, the Great Penny War of the Chubb Institute came to an end. For three agonizing days, we waited.
And waited.
And then waited some more until finally the final count was tallied and the results posted.
Though the Graphic Design students (myself included in this savvy band of Huns) made the most money, we lost to the Medicial Billing and Coding class which came out of nowhere and ransacked us and to CNS.
The precious five days of being able to wear jeans to school went to them as the spoils of war. :tongue:
The tally is as follows:
Medical Billing and Coding:
Pennies = $170.66
Silver = $28.15
Total = $142.51
(they just sat back, stroking their beards in amusement as the rest of us tried to thwart each other == in one case, using lightsabers.)
Massage Therapy
Pennies = $32.96
Silver = $75.90
Total = $42.55
Medical Assistants
Pennies = $70.71
Silver = $117.86
Total = $-42.55
CAD
Pennies = $1.32
Silver = $47.85
Total = $-47.15
CNS (our arch rivals) Who also get to dress in jeans since our school is primary split into two areas Medical Training and Computers. We will avenge ourselves. Oh yes, there will be vengeance and rueage. (Especially since Fred made about 100 copies of the outcome and then proceeded to mummify my department head's cubicle with it. Including wrapping it around every pen and pencil)
Pennies = $88.30
Silver = $154.37
Total = $-66.17
GDA
Pennies = $138.24 (I put $50 of pennies in our bucket a mere 2 hours before the closing deadline
Silver = $250.73 (a devastating amount of sabotage. Fiends.)
Total = $-112.49
On the whole we managed to raise $1,176.99 for Heifer International. So our first ever Penny War was a success.
I would like to extend my heart felt thanks to those who donated to the GDA side and thus growing our final total for charity.
Best regards,
mimian
P.S. -- The last time GDA lost to CNS, my department head, with a crack team of ninjas, got hold of an industrial roll of plastic wrap (the huge tall ones made to shrink wrap pallets of freight together) and used the entire roll to completely encompass Fred's car. Ah, such a moment. It took him about an hour to cut his car free from its cocoon.
Now that THAT is over, real life here has been a rollercoaster of angst and bullshit. I will recount you these tells of my "gall stones of the ears" and my sister semi tragic tale of be cloistered in a hospital in the Bronx in which they made the most grotesque meatloaf ever to be fashion by the hand of man.
I know you are all waiting breathless
Sorry your team lost, but I'm glad to hear a lot of money was made for your charity. Better luck next time.
Hey Mim that sounds like so much fun - the Penny War I mean. Not your sister's stay in the hospital. :wink:
And yes, I'm waiting with baited breath for your next post...........as always. :bye: :applaud:
