He is right around twenty. And yes, he put everything into it. They offered him a logging job, but he decided against it.

Whew,I can really see WHY he declined,too. Such physicality needed for work like that. Never told this,but my great-grandfather worked for a logging company,and was killed in an accident when my grandfather was a little boy. Great-grandma later married again,and he,too,was killed in a logging accident!! Poor guys just couldn't get a break,could they?

It is a dangerous profession with a high possiblity of death or injury. That must have been very hard on your great-grandmother.
