On board ship -listening to Hornblower - Perfect! Exactly...i just hope that i can sit on deck, cause here it is already really cold, this morning we had minus 4 degrees. And the wind is also blowing strong...for luck i don`t get seasick

Oh my! Quite cold and then you factor in the wind :cold: . I'm afraid I would not be so fortunate to not get seasick, especially if there is any wave action. . Although audiobooks would keep my mind off it. Have so much fun. Havoc - I haven't tried the library yet for audio books, just regular books. Well, except to see if they have Ioan's version of Hornblower. Unfortunately the library here is rather small, but I may check it out.

Thanks so much :-) I was actually already on board of a ship in a storm ; the waves were really high, and my children were all green in the face :waaah: , but i just felt nothing. That was an "interesting" trip anyway, we moved from Germany to Finland with all our stuff and had a really small cabin, where we had to sleep with five persons and five cats, means me, my husband, three kids and the cats.... and then i was that uncareful to tell to the reception that i am a nurse, just in case...if there is something happening. Of course i got something to do in the storm, a small boy fell and cut his eyebrow open and a woman passed out from not eating and only drinking coffee. Like i said, interesting trip. Not to mention that i myself suffered from bronchial infection and had fever.

That does sound like an eventful trip. I hope this one is much better. Good for you that you don't get seasick. I don't always, but the chance is always there for me.

Oh my,that sounds awful,Hope. I'm sure you'll have better luck this time. I'm not sure about me and seasickness....I've never really had any experience around boats or ships out on the water.....except a ferry ride once, and I did alright then..... :dunno

At least i will NOT tell anybody that i am a nurse this time....i want to listen to my audio-books in peace ;-))

:happy Good Idea.

At least i will NOT tell anybody that i am a nurse this time....i want to listen to my audio-books in peace ;-)) Ah, a fellow nurse! How's the swine flu in Finland? (We're gearing up, but hoping it will be the damp squib it's looking like  ) As for declaring one's profession; I have colleagues who've been upgraded on flights for promising to help in an emergency. I remember riding a storm on a ferry in the Agean, which can get pretty fierce. Normally a dreadful traveller , I was so exhilarated, I stood at the rail in awe. I can still remember that feeling 25 years later (and my boyfriend with his head down the hole in the deck that passed for a loo then!)

Here it turned out to be less dangerous than a normal flue, and we don`t have many cases yet. I, for myself speaking, will not take any vaccination, might be more dangerous than the whole thing.
