I watched this movie for the second time today and liked it better this time around. It is really growing on me. I feel a bit sorry for Freddy and I don't think it's just because he is played by Ioan (although that doesn't hurt :wink: ). I realized he was only twenty and Edie was nine years older. Certainly couldn't condone murder, but it seemed to me that Bywaters was also somewhat manipulated. I do think Ioan did a great job with the accent and the Charlie Chaplin scene is quite cute.

Mmm-hmmmmmm,.....he sure does do a nice job in this story,doesn't he? Don't know exactly if Freddy was manipulated so much as he was just completely swept up in youthful passion and excitement--and even a kind of catch-me-if-you-can attitude over an object of forbidden love. And,of course,Edie was too--only in the opposite direction. I'm changing the subject,I know,but the first kiss they share still knocks my socks off! Boy, is it something!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, the very slow, incremental stages to the first kiss. Uh- huh! :thud That and the one that takes place in the shop. Ioan sure knows how to draw out the anticipation in a kiss when he wants to.

Yes, indeed. Those were some of the situations I was thinking of. And then, there are the times you think he wants to kiss the other person. Like in Warriors with the neighbor lady. The cute peck on the cheek in VAM and the nice sympathetic hug. Love in the 21st Century. Ah! the list grows.
