Gnat :hug too! These changes in whether are really bad. We again had some strong wind but no snow (that is no snow throughout entire winter).
I can't possibly imagine how it is for you since here we don't get much snow and if it snows it is for a day or so. Hope you're feeling better and that any kind of illness and flu is way behind you.
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-13-2008
Come on out West and North, Gnat. We've been fortunate the last few days as we've warmed up to the mid-40's. We also live in the rainshadow of the Olympics though you wouldn't have known it last week. We're back to drizzly rain now.
Hope your snow has cleared out somewhat Gnat. I hope your Grandma and family had loads of fun in the warmth of Florida and that you are recovering from your illness.

How you doing now, Gnat, I've been away a little? Sorry you are having such a hard time health-wise this winter! Love, Ship

Hey Stevie - SOLD!!!! Packing my bags now! Actually my aunt and I were just talking about how much we'd love to go to England.
Gaff - I've heard that for the most part, the Pacific NW is fairly mild.
Matie - I appreciate it. I'm doing better now. The snow situation is almost dire here. I practically live on an ice rink at this point. No snow today, but the high is still below freezing and will remain there for the next several days. And good news.......more snow expected tomorrow! :???:  I think I might start skiing to work.
Oh and a side note: forgot to relay this story to you all the other day. Last week with that horrible 2 ft of snow storm that we got.........just up over the border into Wisconsin, there was an Intertstate highway that got shut down because of an overturned semi truck. There were something like 1000 cars stuck for about 19 1/2 miles for 11 hours!!!!! Can you imagine???? I would have slit my wrists. I'm sorry, but my clausterphobia would have kicked in at some point and I would have gone mad! The state troopers and the National Guard were out there on tobogans checking on all the motorists.
Insane!!!
I WANT SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-13-2008
Didn't hear about that? It must of been so frustrating. The only benefit is that they weren't sitting there alone. They would all be able to group in one car for awhile and fun it, and then switch to another car.
GNAT0629- 02-14-2008
Some of them might have been. But yes I'm sure there were bonds and new friendships formed. How can you not when you're staring at somebody that long???
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-14-2008
Wonder if we'll see a Movie of the Week about a marriage resulting from the great snow accident in 2008.
StevieT- 02-14-2008
Well, there's a good basis for a play, if I ever heard one! It would be kind of like Ionesco's 'In Camera', where a bunch of strangers in a waiting room find out they're actually in hell and are stuck there for eternity. The tenet is "Hell is other people". Discuss.
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-14-2008
So many ideas and not enough time. Yes, I could see that as a play. One set - lots of options. I had an idea for another play based on getting snowed in at a funeral home. Happened to a friend of mine and there were four funerals going on in New York. I need to get finished with what I'm doing and move on to another subject. Or better yet, Your idea Stevie, you should write it. Bet you could.
StevieT- 02-14-2008
Bet I could, GG, but I'm so enamoured of Ionesco's version, I doubt I'd be original........ :???:
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-14-2008
How many years old is Ionesco's version? Everything repeats itself. Use the same pattern with different dialouge and everyone will think you've come out with something new and innovative. Look at peasant tops and wild prints coming back!
I wrote a piece called Wait of the World about people waiting in a line they can't leave and what they do when an annoying kid gets hurt. That was fun practice for me.
Shipmate- 02-16-2008
Oooooo, that sound like fun,GG. Interesting ideas all around,Ladies.......
GNAT0629- 02-26-2008
Yep - another 6 inches as of this morning. It started at about 1:00 pm yesterday. I was home sick. It never stopped. And today the wind picked up.
Then my aunt tells me there's another storm coming our way Thursday. Fantasmic.
Frances- 02-26-2008
Winter at its worst in Illinois! I don't envy you, Gnat. Hope winter will end soon.
Gaffer'sGirl- 02-26-2008
Oh Gnat - poor kiddo! More snow and sick again. I sure hope it improves for you soon. We've had weather in the high 40's and low 50's the last few days. I hope the jetstream brings that your direction. Here's hoping for an early Spring for Illinois.
