In the screenings I went to, audiences really seemed to respond well to this movie. There were many tears and in some screenings clapping at the end. Glad you finally got to see it Charlotte. I drove about 200 miles round trip the first time I saw it and took several long trips after that. It never did come to my local theater. Since I got the DVD, I've shared it with several family members and they were all impressed by it.
I suppose some are still discovering this movie. The comments were very nice.
Good to hear that some are still discovering and feeling like writing on AG. I hope this means that it is one of those movies that you still watch with pleasure years after they were made.
It's always nice when someone makes a 'discovery' for themselves of a film. Frances, I agree with you, I believe that this film will be around, somewhere, for a very long time.
The Better Hour: The Legacy of William WilberforceI don't know if this has already been posted. It is about a documentary, part of the year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the British slave trade.

I'll have to check this out,Frances, thanks for the tip.
Thanks Frances. I can't remember seeing it before this.
Well, Amazing Grace continues to impress. I loaned my DVD to the leader of my Drama group. She worked as a professional actress for many years. She and he husband just loved it. They loved the story and the acting. Found the whole thing very uplifting and were quite grateful to have seen it. Good going, Welshboy! :Wales Besides Hornblower and Warriors and S & G and Great Expectations and . . . you've been part of a project that will make an impression for years to com.
I think that's very true,GG,It's a story worthy of attention, and I'm sure Ioan will always be proud to say he had a central part in the making of it.
Thanks for posting that article Annee!! I have seen the 1st 2 movies that are listed Amazing Grace & The Great Debaters. Both were great movies and very inspiring :)
Nice compliment for Ioan in that article, also.
