Amazing Grace Audio Clip of Ioan singingI just created an mp3 audio clip of Ioan singing Amazing Grace in the film....ripped the audio from the DVD, so at the beginning is the hecklers in the background, no way to edit them out but if you haven't seen the film or have and want to hear him sing I uploaded the clip to my server to share:

Thanks Maiden. Great of you to post that for those of us who won't get the DVD for awhile.
That is so nicely done. I wish they would have let him sing the whole song in the soundtrack, maybe during the credits. Ah well! We can only hope we'll hear him sing again someday or listen to the little bit in Solomon and Gaenor.
My only problem is that the tune that everyone knows wasn't used for the hymn until about the 1850's and wouldn't have been sung at the time.
Nice clip - I wish they didn't have the pitch so high - I bet he could have done MUCH better if they had it lower for his richer baritone voice.
While I was listening to this, I remember that Ioan said he felt like crap the day he had to sing this and they had some other guy waiting in the wings to sing for him. Thank goodness he got through it.
Glad you guys can enjoy the clip....and gosh..he was sick that day?? Poor baby...well, he still sounds fantastic!

I didn't know that tune even existed until I heard it in the movie, I liked the way Ioan sung it and thought he sounded great but I much prefer the other tune of Amazing Grace...it sounds more melodious, I think, but that's probably just me.
Interesting that the particular tune used in the movie was introduced until the 1850's...I remember reading that somewhere else and wondered why it was that they chose that particular tune...
Thanks for uploading the audio clip Maiden! I've been hanging out for something like this for ages!
Thanks for the audio clip, Maiden! It's nice to be able to listen to Ioan singing while I'm working in front of my computer.

Thanks for the info, HHholder. I knew the hymn before I heard of AG but I had no idea when and by whom it was composed.
Thanks, Maiden! Makes me want to see this movie even more (if that were possible!!!).
