Ad Removal
As of today, we at Admin are paying a nominal amount to keep the forum free of ads. Please let us know if you notice the difference, and if it's worth continuing? Stevie :The General:

I use Adblock with my web browser, Firefox. I never saw any ads or pop-ups when I browsed Ioan Zone (or other sites) even before you payed to have them removed. Im not positive, but its possible that Adblock (or another program) will work with other browsers such as Internet Explorer. If paying for removal of ads doesnt last, I suggest to those who still see them that they use a program for blocking them on your own (yes, the programs are free.) (I hope its alright Stevie that I put my suggestion in here, but I felt this may be a good way for the zoners to be Ad free for ALL sites, and to keep costs down on the Zone.) ~ Amanda

Your right, Goddess, I use Firefox and each individual can block the ads. However, I can't do it as Admin for this forum, as there is a clause in the Forumer contract preventing it (ads are their revenue). So we'll see how it goes - it's just a trial. :cool:

As you can see the ads are back,(underneath the banner) as my trial has ended. Please let me know if you find them intrusive. Stevie :The General:

I don't really have a problem with them Stevie, because I just overlook them. Sometimes I actually find them funny because they change to relate to the thread I'm looking at.

Like Zoo, I just look past them. Though occasionally they are not too bad. Just saw an ad for the Hornblower set, so kind of cool.

Personally, I'm not bothered by the ads and I just look past them.

Sometimes they are there, sometimes they are not, sometimes I see them sometimes I do not! Gosh this is funny! I don't mind them at all!

Update on the ads, folks. there have been a lot of complaints over on the Forumer (our hosting company) support forum about the new noisy, flashy ads. I don't think we suffer as much as some, but I think some individual skins have more trouble than others. So if the ads are really bugging you, try changing skins. If you don't want to, or that doesn't help, then please tell me, as I'll get the ad-removal back. Meanwhile Forumer are re-negotiating with Google for the return of their ads, which were at least linked to the site content (and silent!), so fingers crossed! Stevie :The General:
