Thanks annee. The photography in AG was certainly stunning. Fingers crossed.
Thanks, Annee.
AG is a nominee in the Costume Design category, too:
COSTUME DESIGN
Alexandra Byrne, “Elizabeth: The Golden Age” (Universal Pictures)
Yvonne Blake, “Goya’S Ghosts” (Samuel Goldwyn Pictures)
Marit Allen, “La Vie En Rose” (Picturehouse Entertainment)
Rita Ryack, “Hairspray” (New Line Cinema)
Jenny Beavan, “Amazing Grace” (Samuel Goldwyn Films)
Jacqueline Durran, “Antonement” (Focus Features).
Fingers crossed.
Thanks Annee! :applaud: And thanks Frances for pointing out the Best Costume nod, too. I thought the costuming for AG was fantastic. Hope AG wins at least one of these if not both.
I haven't heard of these awards before. I noticed a category for Best DVD Extras!
Maybe this will boost Amazing Grace's profile for awards season. Thanks for pointing them out Annee and Frances.
Sounds like all well-deserved credit is being given here for each of these catagories. The photography in AG was exceptional, I thought, and costuming lovely throughout. Hope AG wins both awards!
Thanks for the info the photography and costuming was pretty spectular.
The winners of the 12th annual Satellite Awards were announced on December 16th. Unluckily, AG did not win in either of the two categories it had been nominated (the awards went to "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", instead). For the list of winners, see

While I can see that Elizabeth the Golden Age was beautiful to they eye, I didn't care for it that much as a movie. I did like the first Elizabeth. Oh well, I guess the nomination for AG was an honor in and of itself.
Though I would have liked it to win, I also guess the nomination for AG was an honour in and of itself. Given the number of potential candidates for awards, some boast about making it to the list of those selected for final consideration.
